Terance just returned from his deer hunt in Colorado. This is what he came home with. (I think the one Taylor shot last year may have been bigger!) Terance had fun, but poor James was sick the whole time.

I will never eat venison. Whenever Dan gets a deer it hangs in the garage & it makes me sick. When he cooks it, the smell makes me sick. I think we still have some venison in the freezer in the garage. My husband doesn't eat all the deer, it just sits. I can't wait until Dan & Cutler go deer hunting to get us another deer. So I can see it sticking the tongue out at me, when I get into my car. Just tell me to shut up. Men love it..
Terance will take it and blend it with ground pork, spice it up and make sausage. It turns out really good, because the pork adds fat and flavor. The other thing he does is bottle it. I will just empty the jar of bottled meat and make stew out of it. It is not like fried venison. It is so tender--it just falls apart! Terance will drain the bottled meat and use it like tuna fish, mix it with mayonaise and make sandwiches. I think bottling it makes it so tender there is nothing gamey about it. You better watch out if I ever bring stew, it may be deer, elk, or antelope! :)
